Hirsch Pulse offers specialty software for taping, cording, coiling

Explore opportunities to create innovative new looks for fashion, spiritwear, and home decorative items with Pulse’s specialty digitizing optional programs offered as enhancements to Tajima DG/ML by Pulse and distributed by Hirsch International of Hauppauge, NY.
With the combination of special attachments and Pulse’s software, you can do taping, cording, and coiling with your Tajima embroidery machine. Taping involves using ribbon or fabric tape, which is attached to create borders, patterns, or accents. Cording works in a similar way but uses thick yarns or cording that is attached using a zigzag stitch. Coiling is done using an attachment that twists the upper thread and lower thread or yarn together to create a unique effect that is then attached with stitches.
This specialty software automates the necessary digitizing steps to use any of these three techniques. The coiling and taping uses a simple run stitch and special machine commands activate the machine functions saving hours of manual labor. The program eliminates the needs for detailed stitch editing to set up the machine commands. It can be easily done in the outline mode.

Wilcom DecoNetwork makes it possible to sell custom goods online

The holiday season has again proven that online shopping is increasing in popularity, and now with an affordable online store solution from Wilcom, decorators can design and print their own unique apparel and sell it worldwide.
Apparel is one of the fastest growing product categories for online retailing. However, shoppers no longer want mass-produced apparel. They want to order unique, one-of-a-kind items that reflect their hobbies or personalities.
Wilcom DecoNetwork provides the technology platform for printers and embroiderers to offer shoppers the ability to design and order that unique bag or t-shirt online.
With DecoNetwork’s online designer individuals can select a product, upload their own design or chose from stock embroidery and print designs available. When it comes to ordering, DecoNetwork is a full-featured ecommerce solution to rival any shopping cart product on the market.
Not only that, but DecoNetwork offers apparel decorators the chance to create a grass roots network of online stores – by offering Affiliate stores to their local sporting clubs, schools, budding t-shirt designers and niche interest groups.
Affiliate stores can be uniquely branded online with products specifically
centered on a particular theme, such as football teams, babies or song lyrics. The stores' orders are filled by the DecoNetwork Fulfiment Center they are linked to. This supports the local businesses who can offer personal service and don’t have the shipping delays and quality issues that the large corporate stores may have.
With hundreds of t-shirt printers and embroiderers already using DecoNetwork, it is proof that many consumers enjoy ordering custom apparel online. As one DecoNetwork store owner, Kevin Kelly reports, “We are getting new customers via the web at a faster rate than ever before. Our customers are raving about the ease of the application.”
30 years ago Wilcom, based in Sydney, Australia, was instrumental in changing the world of fashion and embroidery. “Before we released our embroidery CAD system in 1980, using embroidery as an embellishment in fashion was a very manual and costly process.” CEO of Wilcom Martin Kristiaman said.
“Now, in 2010 we are witnessing the next most significant change in technology and consumer trends. The ability to offer custom embroidery and print online, without the risks and costs usually associated with ecommerce is extraordinary and heralds a very exciting era in the decorated goods industry.”
Wilcom has just released DecoNetwork Version 2. The product is delivered as a hosted solution over the internet which is updated regularly helping businesses keep up with technology and consumer demands.
Wilcom DecoNetwork is for start-up t-shirt printers right through to corporate apparel suppliers wishing to sell online. The online store can be set up very quickly with little or no web experience. Included is the online designer, order management, marketing tools, over 600 branded products, designs, fonts, secure shopping cart and live shipping.
With prices starting at just $49 USD a month, Wilcom DecoNetwork allows businesses of any size to compete in this promising online market, which has previously been dominated by large businesses who could afford the required technology.
This new era of online shopping and “design your own” products has just begun. The DecoNetwork platform empowers consumer-driven fashion and will certainly change the face of the retail apparel industry as we know it.

Vastex offers new
Large format Pallet

Turn your Vastex (Allentown, PA)  V-2000HD premium manual screen printing machine into a wide format printer with the All Over Pallet, V2P-AOP-XL. This specially designed platen is tapered to allow for easy loading and unloading. The top of the platen, which is closest to the press center, measures 25 inches wide (63.5 cm). The pallet gradually widens to 44.4 inches (112.8 cm) where the neck of the shirt is located allowing for printing over the collar, sleeves, and off the edges of up to an extra-large size shirt.
Like all Vastex platens, the All Over Pallet is made of an all-steel construction covered with a rubber top. As an option, to overcome some of the challenges of printing directly over seams, there is a custom cut piece of foam. This foam allows the seams to sink down providing a more level printing surface and, consequently, better-looking prints.
This pallet is ideal for doing one-color prints or multiple colors if close registration is not required. It is not intended for multi-color butt-registered prints. It will fit on any size V-2000HD press; however, if used on an eight or 10-color press, it will take up the space of two stations. On a four- or six-color press, the wide format platen takes up only one station.
The All Over Pallet fits onto the V-2000HD press just like any other pallet. The only exception is it requires the Vastex Heavy-Duty pallet arm with two clamp knobs underneath instead of one to hold it more securely in place. An extra-large screen will be needed and an extra heavy-duty screen holder also is available. A video of the All Over Pallet in action is available on the Web site. Go to videos on the top nav bar and you will see the full menu.
